Q & A
What is the purpose of this survey?
- To better understand the differences in breed groups and how they relate to your lifestyle. If you want to bring a dog into your life you should be well versed in what to expect or you may find yourself not wanting the dog.
What is a breed group?
- All AKC recognized breeds are divided into seven groups (plus a miscellaneous category). Each group has specific purposes, behaviors and qualities to define them.
Why does my activity level matter in choosing a dog?
- Your activity plays an important role in owning a dog. Some dogs are lazy by nature and don't require much more than your affections... however some breeds are balls of energy and require exercise, jobs, and constant supervision until trained properly.
Why is patience important in owning a dog?
- Common sense would tell you that any animal is going to need training and care. This being said, some dogs are much more stubborn than others. You may not know what you're getting into when you bring home your new Jack Russell Terrier or Beagle. This dogs are notorious for being hyper, and unruly. You need to have dedication and patience when dealing with most dogs. If you don't have much patience, get a cat.
What is the upside to owning a Mixed Breed?
- I'm all for purebreds but the simple fact is that mixed breeds live longer. They don't have as many health problems and they aren't tempearmental. If you want a long lasting dog that your kids will really grow fond of then I push you to visit your local humane society.
Why only the Scottie Dog for a logo?
- I love Scottish Terriers. Deal with it.
